During the Andromeda Mobile Planetarium events participants get to learn more about astronomy through four stations
Mobile Planetarium Dome
The mobile planetarium dome features a guided simulation tour of outer space in a full dome projection format.
Telescope Viewing
Participants get an opportunity to look through Andromeda's telescopes in this station. During clear weather, the Solar Telescopes are taken out for the safe viewing of the Sun's photosphere.
Film Showing & Discussion
Participants get to watch a selected educational short video on astronomy that gives emphasis on topics covered during the event, or compliments the scope of the educational curriculum (currently K to 12 topics for science of the Department of Education). The film is also accompanied by a review and discussion from our astronomers/lecturers.
Exhibit
Among the planetarium exhibit is an infographic showcase on the solar system, as well as our featured meteorite collection from the International Meteorite Collectors Association. Currently our collection comprises of: Campo del Cielo, Sikhote Alin, NWA 869, NWA X, Tamdakht, and tektites from the Australasian Tektite Strewn Field. Depending on the setup venue, the exhibit is occasionally merged in with the Film Showing station.
